MAARDS 2.1

New Features and Enhancements in MAARDS 2.1:

Audible race announcements may be played back in one of five languages. The available languages are: English; French; German; Italian or Spanish.

Note: For announcements to be spoken in a specific language, a text-to-speech (TTS) voice engine for that language must be installed on the computer and selected as the current voice in the Speech Control Panel or Preference Pane, depending on your operating system. It is the responsibility of the user to obtain, install and configure a usable, licensed TTS voice engine for the computer on which MAARDS is running.

The following language files may be downloaded for the purpose of demonstration and testing on Windows:

Deutsch Español Français Italiano UK English

Race announcement content may now be modified by the user.

Detailed information on selecting and configuring languages for playback, as well as modifying the race announcement content, can be found in the Application Settings section of the MAARDS 2.1 Help system.

Other enhancements include: The ability to delete drivers and slot cars from the database; more intelligent display of lap times from the latest N-digital console; and entering a slot car in the Race Monitor grid with a single mouse click.

There are also several important bug fixes in this latest version.

The latest full installers and update installers for MAARDS 2.1 for Windows and Macintosh can be downloaded from the MAARDS main page.

MAARDS 2.0 was the first major update of the (R)ace (D)isplay (S)ystem. Sometime in late 2009, Ninco released the Version “1.07” N-digital console. This new console provides lap count and timing data for each car in a race whenever the car crosses the start/finish line. Using this new information, MAARDS 2.0 is able to display lap counts and timing for each car during the race. Each driver will know how many laps they have driven and how far behind the leader they are at any time during the race. At the end of the race, the entire list of race laps for each driver can be displayed and printed so that the validity of the race results can be verified.
